One of the highlights was of course, The Woodstock Fruit Festival! This was by far the BEST raw food event of this year. There was almost 200 people hanging out for 1 week together enjoying a mixture of sun and rain, great FRUIT (especially durian), beautiful people and landscape, and a loving spirit felt throughout the week. The level of health and vitality at this event was amazing. So many fit and beautiful people from around the world made an appearance. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to present 4 lectures and 1 exercise class during the event week. Based on the positive feedback that I'm still continuing to hear, my message about healthful living seemed to be VERY well received. I would like to THANK all who attended my presentations. I was honored to be part of several video interviews during the week as well. It was a pleasure and honor to have met the other pioneers in this movement. All the speakers were very knowledgeable and generous with their time. I would like to give a special thanks to Michael and Victoria Arnstein, and Yuliya Yuliya Yakhontova, for ALL your time, love and energy towards making this event happen. You all did such a great job! Big thanks to all the volunteers at the festival as well--you all RAWK! I had a chance to RAW-habilitate (rehabilitate) many people from around the world while at the festival also. The results were amazing. *Food as Makeup

I don't wear makeup. Okay, I do, but just don't tell anyone. Just kidding. However, I do get many questions about what kind of cosmetic or personal care products I would recommend. I do feel that EWG's Skin Deep Database is a great resource for helping people determine the safety of what they are putting on their bodies. More details of this can be found here: >>> skin deep
When I was at The Woodstock Fruit Festival, I met a girl who makes her own organic makeup with whole foods. Well, this is about as "all natural" as it comes. It seems easy enough to do, and it looks great. I thought I would post a video of this lovely gal (Megan Elizabeth McDonnell), so that you can see how she exactly does it.
Guys, stop whining. This could make your girlfriends or spouses prettier and happier, so this applies to you too.

Words of Wisdom

Would you do any of the following to somebody you care about:
- Feed them bad food.
- Wake them up from a sound sleep with an alarm clock.
- Verbally insult them.
- Pollute the air they are trying to breathe.
- Deprive them of sunshine and fresh air.
- Prevent them from moving or exercising.
- Not allow them to bathe or clean themselves.
- Limit them from giving or receiving a hug.
- Heavily medicate and/or poison them.
- Show them grace when they ask for forgiveness.
Well...then... do you think it might be wise to give yourself the same courtesy?

*Q & A with Dr. SAM
Question: "T.Q" asks: "Do you think that eating a gluten-casein free diet really matters?"
Answer: That depends. If your ultimate goal is to improve your health, then YES! Gluten and casein (wheat and dairy proteins) rich foods are very hard to digest and cause significant health challenges and problems for many people. The potential benefits of eating these foods do not outweigh the risks. So, I would not (and DO NOT) consume them, or recommend them. A better choice would be to simply eat more fruits and veggies, which are the ultimate health foods that nature intended for us to eat. I've personally seen thousands of peoples' health transform just by going gluten-casein free!
