Grow Something Edible!

I know that spring has not sprung in many places around the country just yet. However, growing something edible can be started NOW. Even if it's just an idea of what you might want to grow this year, start the process. Food prices are rising sharply and are predicted to continue to do so. Supply and demand relationships are being heavily challenged throughout the world right now. So, this IS the time to start growing some of your own food. Whether it's starting a small garden, planting fruit trees, growing some food in pots, or sprouting some herbs or greens (in jars, bags,  trays, or baskets). Relying on the grocery store to meet all of your dietary needs may not be the best idea. Many stores do NOT teach self-sufficiency or local sustainability. This will be paramount for the health of ALL in the future.

I have already put 10 fruit trees in the ground this year. Over half of these are not on my property. You see, the growing process needs to be shared. If we ALL don't win, no one wins! Please remember this. This not only pertains to food, but everything else we need in life. So, I helped a friend of mine get started growing his own fruit trees this year.

I say intentions each day that people will awaken to a new consciousness.

One that :

  • is filled with the importance of edible landscape.
  • nourishes humanity with a symbiotic relationship with the planet.
  • realizes the importance of chemical-free lawns. (No more "war on terra")
  • understands that the Earth is truly abundant and brilliant.

All of our needs will be met if we just simply pay attention to and cultivate a loving relationship with the earth. Man having "dominion over the earth" really means "being stewards of the earth," as opposed to trying to dominate it.

If you don't know how to grow anything, learn how! Just simply: ask someone (maybe a neighbor), read a book, watch a video, experiment, join a web forum, or whatever else you have to do to learn how, but grow something! It's really not that hard.

If you come to one of my RAW-habilitation Retreats, I promise you will learn about "growing"--not just food, but GROWING your health in so many amazing ways.
